 Gunther's ←(HP) 

After have tried some fine dining restaurants that are ranked in the The Miele Guide Asia's Top20 for 2011/2012,  

* iggy's (lunch and dinner) is ranked top1

* Restaurant Andre (lunch) is ranked second

*Tippling Club (lunch) is ranked 10th

*Les Amis (lunch and dinner) is ranked 19th

I think shouldn't miss the last one that we hadn't tried...,Gunther's......that is ranked 14th in Miele Guide.

We had degustation menu for our lunch this time,it priced at $128++ per person......I think there are some restaurants that offer less price for more interesting and more decent for its degustation menu in this country! such as.....

 *fifty three  $120++ (3 amuse,appetizer,risotto,main course,dessert)

 * iggy's $85++ (amuse,appetizer,spaghettini,main course,dessert) 

Urm,.....even though the food here wasn't bad,but......nothing amazing. Well~~~it's my personal opinion!!

But........,its service was so attentive without being too intrusive,their staff were very good at interacting with diners that may leave a good impression in your mind. Compared the service of Gunther's with fifty three & iggy's, I'd like to vote to Gunther's.

Jaan (HP)

 

It was a weekday night! Not surprisingly,the restaurant was almost vacant. Probably,the number of waiters exceeded the number of customers.

 

Well,here is the best place to host a dinner to your guests. All the views from the top of hotel is absolutely impressive and you can enjoy a decent meal here as well.

Tippling Club(HP)

 

I checked the Miele Guide-Asia's Top20 for 2011/2012. I do agree with iggy's is living up to its reputation in the first rank of Asia's Top20 restaurants. But........I have to say ''restaurant Andre'' is not really qualified to came second (with a shrung!) ......We had a bad time with themreally!What a snooty restaurant.

Anyway it's my personal opinion. Well,.....I'll keep my fingers cross for them to retain their Top20 ranking for next year!

 

I was eager to try ''Tippling Club'' which was named as the 10th best restaurants of Miele Guide. As usual,I googled some information about this '' Molecular Restaurant'',and knew that most of people had a sensational experience with ''Tippling Club'',even though I was worried about if here is worth splashing out about $250 on per person for one dinner. Because I've know the concept of Tippling Club,they make most of dishes are matched with a cocktail or wine.(means...the dishes must be a bit salty)

A big problem is .......I'm not a tippler and of course,I'm so weak in alcohol. Thankfully,they offer the lunch set menu even on Saturday. I'm quite happy with only spending $55++ to try something new,so I went with my hubby to try the lunch set last Saturday. It was a exciting experience and I think everybody should try once in your life time. So unforgettable!!

We paid $220 in total for the bill. It's a bargain at that price as we had an extremely enjoyable lunch time.

Fi53fty three(HP)

I planned to travel Europe for this coming summer holiday but, due to my hubby's company schedule,we're not allowed to have a long leave. So,Denmark is the one of good choices which we could manage one week holiday in Europe.

To be honest,I don't fancy Denmark at all,just quite keen on The World's best restaurant ''Noma''only. I wish I would have a chance to go someday. I'd check the availability before proceeded to book our tickets. I still remember the time was about the middle of January. I was extremely surprised at how quickly all the tables have been booked during the summer season.(Or.....booking are not taken more than 3 months ahead??) I've been thinking if it was hoo-ha of it being the best restaurant in the world ,does it deserve this honor?? I don't know??but, it won't annoy me any more. We've decided to go another country. Bye~~Denmark.

 

After looked up some information,I was so excited at the one good news that shown me~~~there is a talented chef whose name is Michael,and operating the restaurant ''53'' in this town. Actually,he is a law degree holder but,still set his heart on pursuing a career in cooking as a profession. Amazing!!

Read about his story and knew that he'd served his apprenticeship at restaurant Au Jardin before moved on to many famous restaurants. Such as " The Fat Duck " ," Noma" . Since I'd known this I was eager to try '' 53''.

I was very impressed upon entering the restaurant,the tables are rounded and without covering the table-cloth. All the main dining hall was simply furnished. It was the first time I'd seen this kind of decor in a French restaurant. My friend complimented '' 53 '' on their good sense of decor a lot, so did I.

We had lunch on that day,I don't know whether it's a bargain for the price which priced at $120++. It sounds a bit pricy for housewives but, I think if the same quality goes to another restaurants located in downtown,the price will be charged more than that.

We really enjoyed a lot with ''53'' this time. It was an amazing experience,we love the creativity,skill,all the things here. Definitely,one of the best 3 meals in my life. I'll come back here to celebrate my hubby's birthday.

L'atelier de Joel Robuchon  (HP)

 

Foie gras lovers musn't miss here. I think the Chef here hit the right note with the foie gras menu which excited our taste-bud a lot~~~^^ when the first dish(foie gras custard with red porto wine) was delivered,I was pretty sure that we'll have a highly enjoyable dinner with L'atelier tonight!!

We really enjoyed too much this night!! And can't wait untill next visit with my hubby! 

Definitely one of the Top3 meals so far in this country!

We decided to celebrate this gleeful Christmas with iggy's and tried to get a table one month in advance. But..........Unfortunately,it was fully booked on Christmas Eve. (When on earth did others make their reservations?)but,there was still available on 23d/Dec and we'd have compromised with the date if we hadn't wanted to wait untill next Christmas.

 
I must say that iggy's deserved to be ranked in The world's 50 Best Restaurant
Awards. After trying a few posh restaurants,I think iggy's is the greatest dining experience so far we've had. I'm sorry to say.......I LOVE iggy's more than Joel Robuchon.

It's difficult to describe in many words to tell you how good iggy's is. I just think the money was well spent,it's worth every single penny here. They offer you a unique,interesting dining experience which you might hardly ever had. We often see the melecular gastronomy used for French cuisine that is quite common nowadays,it's not surprising at all if you meet at iggy's. But.................................We were too flabbergasted with the TORO sashmi go with a hard soy sauce meringue which shaped into a sushi. It was amazing!!  We'd never seen the solid soy sauce before!! Well Done!! 

 

I think all the dishes here were quite imaginative using the Japanese seafood ingredients,which is very different from the other French restaurants. It's truly surperb & inventive & interesting!!

 We enjoyed too much a variety of flavours with 8 courses this night!! It was an unforgettable experience.

(The service here was very good!!!! All the staffs were attentive & with smiles) さすが~ベスト50にランキングされたレストラン!

Time flies,we've lived in Singapore for 3 years.

We decided to celebrate our 3d anniversary at JAAN(HP). I know JAAN is not easy to get a table for Saturday night,so I made a reservation one month in advance.

One of the most famous restaurant in Singapore is JAAN which commands a fine view of Marina Bay. Last time,we saw the view from Equinox was superb,but..............the view from JAAN is the best one. It's really extravagant to have dinner with these two symbols of Singapore(Singapore flyer & MBS)....感激したわ~

 

We took 7 courses menu without wine,we were so flabbergasted at wine pairings course. We saw the table just beside us,the couple ordered the 7 courses with wine pairings. Gracious goodness! many many wine glasses on their table,and we noticed~~~~~~Oh! the different wine were served with each dish,that means.....7 courses have 7 different kinds of wine! If I were a wine connoisseur......I would take this course. Unfortunately....I am not good at drinking alcohol.

Well, we were satisfied with everything here. Good service,excellent presentation,fresh & high quality of ingredients. It's definitely worth a try. Especially,its truffle bread and Foie Gras & Pigeon impressed us a lot.

The Foie Gras was the best best one so far we've had. It was just sauteed a bit,but......Surprisingly~~I wasn't fed up with such a big size. The colour looked a bit unusual,whiter than normal one,but.....it wasn't gamy & oily. We really appreciated this dish a lot. And .......need to applaud its pegeon dish,too. I used to eat pegeon at Les Amis,but.......it didn't taste of anything in particular. Jaan's pegeon is'' OUT OF THIS WORLD'' Compared with Les Amis.........JAAN won hands down.

We ended our dinner with a cup of coffee with lovely petit-four. また来るわ~~~~

Dolce Vita ← (HP)


Where did you go & what did you do on this three consecutive holidays. My hubby made a rare request....... He had a craving for Italian food! But.....he has never found & booked the restaurants by himself so far. He's a good trainer~~~~I've been trained to be a multi-function wife since we've been barried.

Oh,poor!! Sorry! I strayed from the main theme.


Dolce Vita is one of my ''must-go'' pocket list,but.......I hadn't got the chance to go untill this time. Here is helmed by a well-known Michelin Stars chef now. I think Singapore is really forturate to have a lot of Michelin Stars chefs operating restaurants here. I hope I could try all of them during these few years.

Dolce Vita,located at the poolside with spectacular view of Singapore skyline. I was in an unusual light-hearted mood in this afternoon. I enjoyed the sunsine,(not really,.....I was sitting indoor) bikini ladies,stunning view.....& hearty lunch. I should come here more often to relieve self-imposed stress,probably.

I LOVE all the things here,and I'm willing to come back again,just...................what concerns me is....money!!! Probably,set menu has much better value than a la carte menu.

Caff'e B ← (HP)

I indulged myself with a relaxing facial & dinner with my friend on that day! 

There are many posh restaurants inside the Marina bay sands. After having a relaxing facial. I got less budget for my dinner 

Caff'e B sounds..........at reasonable prices & afforadable for us. To be honest,I hadn't expected too much untill I tried it. But,surprisingly,we were satisfied with all the things here. 

The service here is super friendly and not intrusive. The staff was attentive,they helped us to split the dishes into two portions without our asking. We could avoid messing our plate.Excellent!! 

I will return again and again to Caff'e B next time! I LOVE here.

I was looking for a restaurant to celebrate my hubby's birthday. I finally tried to book a table at JAAN,but........I was too late.  Getting a table wasn't as easy as I might have supposed. It was a real struggle to get a table at last minute. Fortunately for us,''Forlino'' wasn't fully booked.
